Wistman's Wood Walk & Cream Tea

Saturday 29th August 2026

Step into one of Dartmoor’s most enchanting landscapes with a truly special guided walk from the Two Bridges Hotel to the ancient and mysterious Wistman’s Wood, in association with the Dartmoor Outdoor Festival.

Renowned as one of Dartmoor’s most precious and biodiverse habitats, this rare pocket of temperate rainforest feels almost otherworldly. Twisted, stunted oaks stand cloaked in vivid green moss, ferns creep along gnarled branches, and delicate lichens hang like draped ribbons from twiggy tips. So fragile is this extraordinary woodland that we will admire it respectfully from the edge, protecting its beauty for generations to come. Your expert guide Geri Skeen will help you make the most of this memorable Dartmoor experience.

From the wood, our circular route of approximately 4 miles leads onward through open heathland and along a broad ridge linking the dramatic granite outcrops of Littaford and Crockern Tors, offering sweeping views and a true sense of Dartmoor’s wild spirit.

After the walk (approximately 4 miles / 7km), return to the warmth and welcome of the Two Bridges Hotel, where a delicious traditional Devon cream tea awaits - the perfect way to round off an unforgettable afternoon on the moor.

Saturday 29th August, 1pm - 5pm
